Goizueta Business School Rises in International MB |

ATLANTA (January 26, 2004) -In today's Financial Times international ranking of business schools, Goizueta Business School at Emory University is ranked number 16 among U.S. schools and number 22 worldwide from last year number 20 and number 29 positions, respectively. The school also ranked number 7 in faculty research. Dr. Kembrel Jones, a Goizueta MBA graduate in the Class of 2000 and assistant dean and MBA program director, said, "The MBA program at Goizueta is vibrant, cutting-edge, and situated in one of the fastest growing international cities. We encouraged by our ascent in this international ranking." The Financial Times ranking of full-time MBA programs assesses the value of an MBA and the schools that offer them. The rankings criteria were chosen to measure the relative strengths in three key areas: purchasing power in the marketplace, diversity of experience and the school research qualities. A questionnaire was sent to alumni who graduated three years ago (in this case the class of 2000) in order to chart the progress of graduates from before the MBA through graduation and into the workplace. This year 27 (47 percent) of the U.S. schools fell, and only 20 schools (35 percent) moved upwards in the Financial Times ranking. In a separate ranking, Hispanic Trends magazine named Goizueta Business School one of the Top 25 MBA Programs for Hispanics. (The magazine did not assign individual rankings to the programs.) One-third of Goizueta full-time MBA students and nearly 30 percent of the faculty were born outside the United States. The school has alliances with almost 40 international business schools including membership in the prestigious international organization Programs in International Management (PIM). Goizueta Business School is home to an undergraduate degree program, a full-time MBA program, an evening MBA program, an executive MBA program, a modular executive MBA program, and a doctoral degree program, together with a set of innovative non-degree executive education programs. |
